Discovery 3: Animal Heroes (working animals)

Animals help us in amazing ways - what makes them heroes?
Meet some of the animals helping humans every day and explore the responsibilities we have towards animals when we use them for our benefit.

Activity objectives:

• To begin to understand the different roles that animals have in our lives past and present
• To explore whether an animal’s needs are being met when animals are used for human benefit
• To recognise the ways animals and humans can work together, and appreciate how amazing animals can be

Advocacy Activities

To demonstrate and consolidate the learning from the discovery sessions, select an advocacy activity that will task pupils with championing animal welfare in a creative and imaginative way.
