EAL good practice for settling new pupils

So you are an EAL coordinator, and have a new pupil coming in soon. How do you make him/her feel welcome and at ease in their new surroundings in the quickest way?
This guide will take you through tips to help do just that. I have been an EAL coordinator at my school for 8 years and have implemented many successful tips to make every new arrival feel welcome.
If you are a newly appointed EAL or ESL coordinator, or if you have already held a post for some time but need a fresh approach to welcoming and settling new pupils, this three-step guide (before your pupil arrives, their first day, the first term and beyond) is for you.
