English- Persuasive Writing lessons- KS2

In these two lessons, students will look at examples of persuasive writing and identify the features of persuasion used according to a fictional character- Mr Fredeptor:

F- facts and statistics
R- repetition
E- exaggeration
D- description
E- emotive language
P- personal pronouns
T- the rule of three
O- opinions
R- rhetorical questions
S- summary

They will annotate example texts before planning and writing their own persuasive pieces. A planning frame is provided as well as example texts.

This lesson is suitable to KS2 children but can easily be modified to suit KS3.
