AQA EDEXCEL Preparing, combining and shaping food, this is an ideal resource pack to get your learners talking about the various food preparation skills they need to demonstrate at GCSE level.
Learners are encouraged to
• name the many illustrated food items
• describe the methods used in the dishes shown
• point out and explain the binding agents
• discuss food contamination (picture with raw meat and vegetables…)
• discuss what skills they will apply when preparing the dishes

Cards containing the terminology for the items in the pictures can be used to differentiate for weaker students.
The board game is available in A4 or A3 format and is self-explanatory.
The cards can be printed for use as mini-flashcards or if printed on card and/or laminated could be used for ‘snap’ or ‘pairs’.

Food preparation skills GCSE workbooks games BUNDLE

9 Food Preparation AQA / EDEXCEL resources: Workbooks, picture cue cards, word cards, board games. All workbooks are ideal for substitution work but also for consolidation work, revision, classwork or homework. Each workbook covers a selection of skills as listed in their titles. A few tasks are research tasks and would require access to the internet and/or to a variety of recipe books. Most tasks are suitable for students to complete individually prior to discussing their answers in pairs, groups or indeed in class. This bundle also includes 6 sets of colourful picture cards and 3 sets of word cards. These cards can be used in a multitude of ways, e.g. consolidation, differentiation, labelling tasks, display, games (pairs, snap, etc…), the list is endless. :) Use the board games to help your students consolidate or revise what they have learnt on preparation skills so far. These skills are vital in the teaching of the new GCSE syllabus and in the run-up to Y10 exams, mock exams and the final GCSE. Please be fair to me and do not pass this resource to colleagues unless you or your school have purchased the school licence for this resource too. Thank you. :) If you like these resources, please leave me a kind review and check back to see what else is new in my store at any time. Thank you. :) ©MosaiK
