Fractions are FUN with this sort-count-write fraction activity kit!! Students will sort their candy colors and record fractions to understand that they can be used to show the relationship of parts to a whole. And at the end of the lesson they'll enjoy gobbling up their sweet candy treat!
Depending on the brand of candy you purchase, there may be up to four, six or eight different colors in the bag. I've included templates to accommodate them all!
I suggest you print off the templates and then LAMINATE them for future use. Students can then use dry erase markers to record their findings.
I've also included my "Jellybean Dominoes" game for your kiddos. 60 dominoes have both numerical fractions and jellybean picture fractions. My students LOVE regular dominoes, so they were absolutely delighted to play this jellybean fraction version!
Included in this kit:
- 3 bright, colorful candy fraction recording templates (for 4, 6, or 8 colors)
- for those who prefer to conserve printer ink... 3 white background recording templates
- 60 jellybean dominoes (laminate and cut apart)
I hope you and your little ones find this to be a DE-licious way to practice fractions!
BE SURE to pick up my Brain-based Fraction Chant which makes learning fractions oh-so easy!
As always -
Wishing you and your mathematicians great success!
