The exchange of christmas cards is a long held tradition in and around December. Most people are fed up of getting the same old types of festive cards, so why not make a Geography themed one where the recipient also learns about how another country in the world celebrates Christmas? You can be sure that these will take pride of place on any mantlepiece or classroom display! This resources was originally designed for Ks3 years but can also easily be used for Ks2 in the juniors section of Primary School as the instructions to complete are clear and simple. Students will need access to an atlas or the internet to research their chosen country’s flag , country outline, and christmas traditions. If you have focussed on teaching a particular country or place this term you can easily adapt this card deisgn for that place. Students cut out readily available impages and festive themed borders to apply to their design, inside and out. They can write a normal christmas message or letter to Santa in the middle of the card as normal. Suitable for absolutely any ability and will keep your little cherubs busy in those lessons in December. I would love to see any example you have done! please post photo’s in the comments section.

Thank you for sharing this excellent resource. I really liked the idea of customising for any country and writing a festive greeting in ones own language.
