Students need to create an action plan to organize a Health Fair to encourage school community to improve their lifestyle: • Train in their own time. • Take part in school sport, either competitively or socially. • Join a gym or health club. • Begin to watch what they are eating. • Search the internet to find information about health and fitness. • Download Apps associated to this topic area.
Requirements: Form a committee and develop a budget. • Determine your goals and what issues you want to focus on. • Determine what activities, such as conferences,classes, fitness and health sessions you want to include • Check on School safety and events organization rules and protocols • Get school permission (Formal: Letter, Email, Informal: Verbal) • Establish the Date, length, organizer committee, duties and irresponsibilities of each member of the committee. operating rules, sponsor support, storage locations for materials/donation and venue. • Delegate responsibilities, including those related to obtaining clearances, security,publicity, and other printed materials, volunteer, sponsors, guest speakers fromnon-profit, and/or government organizations and instructors, refreshments, display setup. • Establish milestones and timelines • Develop materials, including permission, invitation letters, an event logo, promotional media (i.e.videos, brochures, posters, email) • Contact sponsor, guest speakers, non-profit, and/or government organizations and instructors Send an initial letter announcing the event, Follow up and confirm with telephone calls and emails. • Contact donors, or purchase items to be given away at the health fair if appropriate. Ask to your P.E. teacher to help you with request to the school of display/table layout, table clothes, event bags, audio visual needs, signs, lunch selection,trash cans, reserved parking, water/cup delivery, kick-off ceremony (diplomas, recognition gifts for guest) room set-up schedule, time the room is accessible to volunteers, and photographer arrangements.
