This is a short introductory lesson to expose students to elements of the Women’s World Cup in France (2019).
Activities in the powerpoint include:
- Match up (find the 6 correct sentences to describe Ettie)
- Introduction to the Quarter Finalists (vocabulary for countries, opportunity to practise pronunciation).
- Trapdoor (pupils take turns reading the text aloud, trying to guess at specific intervals what their partner has chosen - if they get it wrong, they fall through the trapdoor!)
- Speaking plenary (Similar activity to the previous activity but with more choice. Extension opportunity for students to show their knowledge of other opinion phrases)
