Literacy Challenge of the Week (for 5 weeks)

Attached are literacy activities for form for a 5 week term (5 PowerPoints). The PowerPoints are designed to test the skill of 'context comprehension'. Student are given 12 sentences (40 seconds per sentence - the PowerPoint is timed) - with a word in each sentence underlined - they then have to write down the definition of the underlined word from a multiple choice of possible answers. There are answers at the end of each PowerPoint so the students can mark their own/ a partner's work. Perfect for a half an hour form/ tutor time. These activities were very popular with students at the school I teach.
