This powerpoint contains a series of activities for Lower KS2 pupils. It allows them to explore triangles and discuss what they know about their properties. The activities are practical and there are prompts in the notes on each slide.
Children have many misconceptions about this seemingly simple shape and in my many years of teaching experience their answers to the simplest of questions (Is this a triangle - when it is in its ‘side’?) never cease to amaze me!
All teachers will enjoy listening in to the conversations that children will have while doing these activities. There will also be lots of opportunities for assessment as you listen in!
