Starting from the invention of telephones in 1985 by Alexander Graham Bell, the lesson traces the history of the development of mobile phones to the current time.
- How mobile phones work
The lesson covers ARM microprocessors, phone design and smartphones.
Network generations from 1G to 5G are briefly explained.
- Staying safe on your mobile phone
Many of these developments are illustrated by life stories taken from the Archives of IT website. Accompanying teachers’ notes are also available.
