This project includes written/classroom based tasks which are designed to take students through the ages of Music.
We begin with;

  • What makes a ‘general’ good song
  • Music from the 1950’s
  • Music from the 1960’s
  • Music from the 1970’s
    • Music from the 1990’s (Specifically focussing on Britpop)
    • Music from today

This gives the students the opportunity to think about what makes music good, as well as why they like the music that they listen to.
It encourages students to think about writing about music, using terminology that will support them thinking towards GCSE Music.

The scheme of work has 7 lessons (including the assessment details and criteria for students to work on at the end of the scheme).
The tasks include compare and contrast activities, listening activities and a chance for students to think maturely about Music.
Each lesson is an hours worth of tasks and there are extension/wider thinking activities for students.

Perfect for a class being covered in the last term of music by a non-specialist.

Just what I was looking for for classroom based work for the final term. Lots of listening activities looking at a variety of music from Modern times, hopefully they will stay entertained!
