It is the historian Livy, not the poet Virgil from whom we chiefly get the legend. Virgil at most mentions it in passing in the 6th Book of the Aeneid. Btw, the point of the Aeneid is to emphasise the story of Aeneis as the founder of all things Roman rather than Romulus and Remus. There were seven, not two kings of Rome, they were not born in a forest but in the city of Alba Longa. They were not born to a peasant woman but to a princess of the Royal house of Alba Longa. Their mother did not die in child birth etc etc. I have never seen a teaching resource so misleadingly inaccurate. Know the subject before you try to teach it.

Thank you! I love the question types. They match with what my student's teacher uses in his tests.
