NPQSL (2018 framework) - Successfully passed with outstanding remarks by the moderator

This is based on the latest framework. I succesfully submitted my project in September 2018 and just received my results with outstanding remarks by the moderator. I feel proud to provide this example to anyone who may benefit from my hard work and gain an insight/ideas on the write-up and what supporting documents must include etc.

Project title:
Re-design and enrich vocational subject areas by embedding work-related learning to improve teaching and learning. This should close gaps between working at grade and final grade.

Background:
Work-related learning is a key focus of our Academy improvement plan. In vocational subjects: 46% of students in Year 12 are below their aspirational ALPS target grades. 43% of students in Year 13 are below their aspirational ALPS target grades. Ofsted (2016) stated: ‘In too many vocational subjects, students lose focus on learning because they find the work unimaginative or over reliant on internet searches. Teachers do not sufficiently link theory and practice in these lessons. As a result, the learning is quite slow or low-level and students are not challenged to develop analytical and evaluative skills’. In Academy development documents, work-related learning was one of the area for improvement - particularly in vocational subject areas. There is a need to move away from largely an ‘ad-hoc’ approaches of disconnected activities and successfully engage staff to effectively deliver work-related curriculum and improve standards of teaching, learning and assessment, and student performance (by closing gaps between working at grade and final grade). This project is aiming to deliver high quality staff training and to make methods of teaching, learning and assessment in vocational subjects more effective.
