Perhaps suggest that children use a colour scheme - two colours, three colours, different blues, greens, reds etc. etc. Maybe children could use a mix of different media - pencil crayon, felt tip, pastel, chalk etc.
Great for golden time, or for a fill in activity when children finish their work in the lead up to the summer holidays.
Perfect for Year 2 upwards - even staff can have a go!
