This sheet was designed to help Year 11 students write more confidently and analytically. It contains:

• a selection of quotes from the extract (leave out for highers);
• advice on how to evaluate the statement;
• lists of writer methods for prompts;
• a table-based planning tool to encourage students to explain and analyse the effects of writer methods in depth and a structured order.

The sheet can be adapted for differentiation depending on the needs of your students.
