Picture The Year...

No preparation presentation designed for potential use as a starter or a plenary activity in Key Stage 3/4 History.
A significant year of the 20th Century is suggested by 3 images relating to events of that year. Students are challenged to use historical reasoning to identify the correct year from the choice of 20 that are presented. It is also possible to use activity as a pen & paper exercise by using the links between the task slides and bypassing the answer slide. I have found a 3 minute task of 5 challenges worked well to promote competition and stimulate discussion.
