Ideal for KS3 or KS4. The worksheet deals with land use in the Indonesian rainforest and asks pupils to read about the standpoints of different groups including miners, farmers, local council members and others and make a decision on how to use the rainforest most effectively. This culminates in pupils using a map of Borneo (given on the worksheet) to zone different land uses in the most appropriate places and explain why they chose each area. The sheet can work as an activity on its own or could be used to scaffold a debate task.
Resource created for the Environmental Management part of Geography IGCSE Theme 3 but could be used at various levels as the language in the task is not too challenging.
