Revision: organisms (KS3). Cells and structure, skeletal and muscular systems

intended for KS3 but useful for KS4 as a revision aid:

1. Self assessment sheet includes all of the relevant topic areas and includes a before and after revision section. Pupils must then prove what they know, or state how they will improve. ‘prove or improve’
2. Speed dating is a game where students ask each other questions from their card, they add one of their own questions. Other pupils secure a date if they can answer two of the four questions correctly. An incorrect answer must be corrected and preferably, explained by the questioner.
3. The learning mat or revision grid is a game involving multiple choice questions and extension (application) questions on the reverse. Pupils complete the grid in pairs, taking it in turn to role the dice and answer questions. Landing on a shaded square results in the pair teaming up to answer one of the extension questions on the reverse before they can continue the game.
