I've never left a negative review, but this resource is really disappointing. 13 slides with very little content, just images. It follows from a previous lesson, so not much use on its own. Not worth the price.

The lesson itself does have a slide saying that it continues on from a 'show, not tell' lesson (as you can see in the preview slides before purchase). However, this can be deleted if you haven't yet covered description with your class. There is in fact a slide at the end that contains the 'ingredients for successful descriptive writing', so you could use this if your students don't have a secure understanding of description before starting this lesson. <br />

I'm afraid I agree with the 5 star review from a previous customer and find your 1 star unfair. The slides on this resource allow you to develop class understanding of story structure and the benefits of a more complex structure - it does require you to discuss ideas with your class rather than littering slides with explanations and definitions. Overcrowding slides with information isn't what PPT is for. This is not a overly teacher-led lesson - it requires some discussion at the beginning and feedback at the end of each task. I believe the slides have adequate prompts to engage and direct students, including differentiated success criteria.
