The Geography Vowel Challenge

Activity is designed for used as a no preparation starter or plenary in a Geography/Humanities lesson. There are 20 different challenges that all follow the same format. One potential method is to reveal the 4 words with changed vowels one by one. Students are challenged to try to work out the correct spelling of each word and thereby identify the common factor that links the 4 words. The correct answer can be revealed at the appropriate time. A “blank” template is included as the final slide to allow staff to prepare an activity based on a particular unit of work. For maximum effect the presentation should be used on an interactive board or large screen display. Hyperlinks are embedded throughout the presentation for ease of navigation.
