WW2 crossword and word search

I designed these puzzle worksheets to use in school sessions in connection with my class reader, The Ring from the Ruins used to teach KS2 and KS3 children about life in Britain during the Second World War, especially the Blitz.

The Ring from the Ruins is the final book in The Scar Gatherer series, a sequence of seven time travel adventures spanning British history from Roman times up to WW2. The series website has a wealth of additional material on each period, written for children. The Second World War pages include a WW2 timeline, pages about famous people during WW2 ranging from Churchill and Hitler to Anne Frank, and a page of wartime recipes.
