These workbooks have been designed to be used with Year 7 pupils starting their KS3 Geography course. It could also be used as a home learning activity for Year 7 pupils (KS3), or as KS2 transition work prior to them starting at secondary school. These workbooks aim to introduce pupils to the subject, with thought given to what the study of Geography entails as well as an introduction to geographical investigations. Activities have been designed to encourage pupils to make links with their prior learning as well as the World around them to recognise the links between these ideas and the subject of Geography. This promotes an initial interest in the subject in addition to a wider understanding of the ways in which Geography links to their lives and the prior learning, thus promoting the importance of the subject in the KS3 curriculum. They are also a great resource for teachers to use for assessing new pupils prior learning and ability to use different skills. The workbooks are presented as a series of lessons for pupils to follow. The lessons in workbook part 1 include: 'What is Geography?' (lesson 1), 'The types of Geography' (lesson 2), and 'Where in the World?' (lesson 3). Workbook part 2 continues building upon these ideas and includes: 'How well do you know the UK?' (lesson 4), 'Geography in our local area' (lesson 5), and 'Collecting and presenting data in Geography' (lesson 6). This bundle provides you with a PDF copy of each workbook along with editable Word Documents of these to adapt to your own needs if necessary.
