Diamond Jubilee Card Sort in 3 Languages

Diamond Jubilee Card Sort in 3 Languages

This is a card sort activity to create a timeline of the last 60 years. Sheets to be printed and cut up. Use English and /or pictures to match to French, German or Spanish and then to dates. Timeline then could be drawn for display or in exercise books. Or made into PowerPoint, as required!

Persecution of jews - a timeline

Persecution of jews - a timeline

Used with my yr9 CLIL group, this works well as part of the Bystanders lesson. Print off the strips and give to pupils at the front to hold. There then ensues a (very heated) discussion when pupils are asked to rank each event from worst to least worst. Great for giving students the 'bigger picture' about persecution of Jews worldwide.

Holocaust - taking responsibility

Holocaust - taking responsibility

This is from something I saw at the Imperial War Museum, I've simplified and put into German. Students are given the cut out sheet of those involved with the Holocaust. They then work in groups to decide whether or not the person / group mentioned are guilty and place them on the sheet accordingly. The more guilty, the nearer to the bullseye they go. Excellent for provoking discussion! Used with my yr9 CLIL group.

How did Hitler control Nazi Germany?

How did Hitler control Nazi Germany?

Used with my yr9 CLIL group, a simple ppt to show how Hitler maintained control. I also used the image included (pinched from the History dept, sorry not sure of original source) as a starter - was bemerkt ihr? If you haven't seen the image before, there is ONE man who is not saluting. Warum ist er mutig? etc etc
