Take That Band Group Wordsearch Sheet Keywords KS3 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Musicians

Take That Band Group Wordsearch Sheet Keywords KS3 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Musicians

Wordsearch on the theme of 'Take That'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Music Listening: Tone Colour complete aural lesson with listening examples and activities

This lesson explains the concept 'Tone Colour' and uses relevant music terminology with excellent short (edited) diverse styles of listening examples to broaden experience. The music examples are a mix of popular and classical music. Both relate to each other as the melodic material in the popular extracts is based on the classical examples! Further talking and discussion points that link nicely to provide a useful segue to a Musicological focus - two lessons for one! Use this HSC Music Aural lesson, with listening activities included, as a stand-alone Year 12 revision lesson (also useful for relief lesson) or take the opportunity to work one-on-one with your Preliminary students as they work to deepen their understanding of the music concept 'Tone Colour'. Key Stage 3 Music Cover Booklet

Key Stage 3 Music Cover Booklet

Booklet for cover work for Key Stage 3 Music lessons. Each activity/page should last at least an hour (I have used them for this long). Includes 5 tasks - elements of music description, designing your own radio show, musical futures/band work, film music and writing your own pop or rap song. Could easily cover five theoretical lessons (cover, removal, difficult classes, etc.) Does not need a Music classroom to complete. Just need to print booklet and give to a student with paper! Suitable for non-specialist teachers as well.
