Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! An Assembly about Plastic Pollution.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! An Assembly about Plastic Pollution.

This is an assembly I wrote for my year 4 class production that got good reviews from the critics (parents, teachers and children!) who watched it. It could be adapted in any way you want, including for any year group in Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3. The pack contains the following: - a Microsoft Word script (with space on the left to write children's names) and a PDF version; - a PowerPoint which has all the pictures and videos in the correct order; - and the original video files themselves (because you'll need them to link to the PowerPoint if you want it to play automatically - I couldn't find a way to do it because I converted it from a Google Slides document). Reduce, reuse, recycle!

No Simple Solution to Livestock and Climate Change - Article Guide

No Simple Solution to Livestock and Climate Change - Article Guide

"Simply reducing livestock farming in developing countries will neither cut emissions nor benefit the poor, says livestock expert Carlos Seré." This article (included with this resource as a PDF) discusses the issue of climate change and animal agriculture from a non-vegan point of view. The author attempts to bring up points about agriculture and its impact on developing nations as a more complex issue. Thus, requiring a "Third Way" aside from factory farming or simple meat elimination as solutions to this global problem. The reading guide is in PDF, Word and a fillable Word form. This way you can print the handout for students to write on or share it for them to easily fill out on their devices as a Word form. Afterwards you can reflect on the article as a class or consider writing and researching what a "third way" could look like. Should take about 25-30 minutes This article pairs well with the following other resources of mine: 1. COWSPIRACY - The Sustainability Secret 2. Regenerative Agriculture -- A Solution to Climate Change 3. The Impact of Global Meat Production- Article and Worksheet 4. Meat and the Environment - Article and Reading Guide Thanks for looking! SHIC level 8 (advanced) - Climate Change

SHIC level 8 (advanced) - Climate Change

Just about everything we do results in the emission of greenhouse gases. Climate change is already causing serious harm to people, animals, and the ecosystems we rely on, and it looks like it is only going to get worse. In this level you can find out what role you play in the warming of the earth, and how we can most effectively combat or adapt to this global issue.

SHIC level 7 (advanced) - Global Consequences

You may be kind, helpful and respectful to everyone you encounter, but still, your actions will harm others. This level looks at the way people's actions (especially wealthy people) can have unintended ripple effects on the poorest people in the world. There are some uncomfortable truths in this level, but we owe it to everyone to investigate our negative impact.

Regenerative Agriculture -- A Solution to Climate Change

Regenerative Agriculture -- A Solution to Climate Change

This video guide goes along with the Ted Talk Regenerative agriculture -- a solution to climate change by Ben Dobson. This video makes light of the world's carbon emissions problem and offers a solution to offset the devastating environmental destruction due to current agricultural methods. The video guide is 3 pages long in PDF format. It includes previewing, during viewing and post viewing questions for students and directions. The video link is hyperlinked in the main heading for quick access. This lesson would take about 25 minutes if you view the video only once and 35 minutes if you show it twice, which is what I like to do. "What if we could reverse global warming with just one methodological shift? Can the way we farm radically impact not just our output but also overwhelming wide-ranging concerns for our environment, hunger, and poverty? Ben Dobson has a unique, personal perspective on how we can make universal changes." *****Please Follow Me for New Product Updates**************** I'm also grateful for feedback.

TB Top Down Development: W.H.O End TB

TB Top Down Development: W.H.O End TB

This lesson uses the basic pages of the original WHO documents for students to independently research via sentence finishers from these papers. It is good for comprehension and independent learners and gaining confidence with official documents. I used it for year 8 UK children who managed very well. I have attached all the other documents but not all are necessary, students only need the 3 summary pages for the 3 pillars from the "End_TB_brochure" pages 8, 9 and 10. If doing this with older students or G&T you could print out some extra info from these packs.

How Much Power Does North Korea Have? Video Guide

How Much Power Does North Korea Have? Video Guide

This is an 11 minute video about how much power North Korea has and how it builds that power or would perhaps use it. The video is visually supported very well and is comprehensible for students. I like to play the video once for students just to watch. Then I hand out the guides and have them see what they can remember. After that I play the video again for them to get missing details. Finally, we have a class discussion. Takes about 35 minutes. The file is in PDF, Word and a fillable Word form. This way you can print the handout for students to write on or share it for them to easily fill out on their devices as a Word form. Thanks! Follow me for more product updates!
