Vincent Van Gogh Timeline

Vincent Van Gogh Timeline

Timeline of Van Gogh's life including dates (month/year). The timeline is already mixed up, ready to use for pupils to sort correctly! It takes you from his birth to death and includes important periods in his life. NB: This was created using the 'XCCW joined font' so may appear different from the initial design if you do not have this font installed. This resource took a little while to both create and upload. Could I please ask you to spend a few seconds to review this item; it would be greatly appreciated. :) Enjoy

St. Nicholas Day Assembly - Mystery of the real Father Christmas

St. Nicholas Day Assembly - Mystery of the real Father Christmas

St. Nicholas Day Assembly - Mystery of the real Father Christmas What happens when St. Nicholas and Santa Claus come face to face? Is there room for two Father Christmases or must one go? Read on to find out! Although on the surface this is just a light-hearted encounter between 'the two Father Christmases', it could also be used to look at the deeper issue of Spiritualism versus Consumerism at Christmas. Duration: Around 10 minutes (This could be lengthened by the inclusion of carols and poems e.g. Twas the Night Before Christmas. Cast of 32 – easily adjusted up or down Other Christmas scripts written by Sue Russell available off TES and www.plays-r-ussell.com Sample Text Narrator: What a life! No wonder you were made into a saint, just one century after your death! St. Nicholas: It is something of a miracle that my popularity has continued. And that I am still going round, giving out gifts, both before and after December 5th. Narrator: Which is, of course, St. Nicholas Eve. And you're busy again, up to and including Christmas Eve? St. Nicholas: Indeed I am. So if you'll excuse me. I have work to do! (Sound of reindeer bells. Enter Santa Claus on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. Santa leaps off and nearly knocks St. Nicholas over with his bulging sack full of toys) St. Nicholas: Hey, careful with that sack! (Mutters under his breath) And with that belly! Somebody has been taking a few extra helpings of Christmas pudding! Santa: What's that you say? I happen to think this year's outfit, like last year's, is the perfect fit! St. Nicholas: So. Who are you dressed up as? Santa: (Aghast) Pardon? St. Nicholas: Well, you're obviously in costume! What is the name of this jolly elf you are supposed to be? (Santa turns to Narrator) Santa: Is this guy for real? Does he really not know who I am? Narrator: It would seem that way. Perhaps it's time for some introductions. (Turns to St. Nicholas) Narrator: St. Nicholas, meet Santa Claus. (Turns to Santa Claus) Narrator: Santa Claus, meet St. Nicholas.

ON-ZINNETJES: "reading in context" can be seriously funny (DUTCH)

ON-ZINNETJES: "reading in context" can be seriously funny (DUTCH)

This is the Dutch version of Drôle d'exercice. Again, it is a stand-alone puzzle activity that might be just the ticket for an entertaining end-of-the-year lesson. My students genuinely enjoy this activity and I hope yours will, too. If it prompts you to create one or two of your own, please let me know. This set is intended for more advanced students of Dutch.

The Holocaust: Anne Frank's Experience.

The Holocaust: Anne Frank's Experience.

This was graded an 'outstanding' lesson. Hook Starter to be handed to pupils as they enter class. Lesson Intention and differentiated outcomes. Video links are included within the presentation. This lesson could be used without the need for exercise books as it is a learning stations based lesson for the most part. diary extracts / time line are included within this pack (other stations could include text books, laptops EG: On the Anne Frank Website an interactive tour of the Annex. I also included a 'bigger picture' station which showed an overview of The Holocaust though pictures etc as a whole. (All images and videos / sheets from Google / BBC Bitesize). Many Thanks.

Dutch Halloween Skeleton Counting Song - PowerPoint + Halloween Worksheets + 31 Teaching Ideas

Dutch Halloween Skeleton Counting Song - PowerPoint + Halloween Worksheets + 31 Teaching Ideas

Do you teach Dutch? Use my Halloween materials to boost their learning in a fun way! You learn a counting song in Dutch. I have also included a Halloween themed worksheet which you could ask the children to translate into Dutch. I have also included a presentation showing you 31 different ways the students could then use their worksheets to create new teaching activities in the classroom. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different skeletons being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the Halloween Skeleton Counting Song. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groups of skeletons. The students can then discuss what they think each skeleton was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.
