London Underground Lesson for KS1/KS2/KS3/EAL/ESL Learners! A big hit!

Here is a detailed lesson all about the history and story of the London Underground, followed by some information of how the tube works. Students then get Maps given to them to try and work out how long and how far stations are from each other. They also need to practice key dialogues and vocabulary related to travel, distance and time. This can also be modified to suit learners as there are key phrases and key information the teacher needs to give learners. We have found this lesson to be very popular and cross-curricular as it covers, English, Maths, Geography and History.

Graffiti

Graffiti

A collection of photos that I am putting together for my students as I row my boat solo around the coast of Great Britain. The theme for this curation is graffiti through the ages. I will be using these pictures in relation to World War Two soldiers, the relationship between people and their environs, and the artistic and cultural side, as well as the impact on where we live. Guess the Canadian Lingo

Guess the Canadian Lingo

This Powerpoint allows students to guess words that are common in Canada but are not well known elsewhere. It includes 18 words for the students to guess the definition and 5 objects for students to guess the function. This has been tested with 5-year-olds and 10-year-olds and they enjoy guessing the words and discovering life in Canada. This is a great resource for that extra five minutes of class when students finish work early or to supplement learning about Canada.
