World Flags - I Have Who Has Activity

World Flags - I Have Who Has Activity

World Flag I Have Who Has is a great way for students to practice and recognize world flags and country names! This file contains 2 game sets with a vocabulary list of 50 flags. “I Have, Who Has” activities are great for large or small groups and are very easy to play. Players are challenged to listen, read, and speak to participate in the games. Simply deal the cards out to however many are playing and have them arrange the cards face up on the table in front of them. Players must be able to see all of their cards. These cards have designated “Go” and “Stop” cards. The player with the “Go” card reads their card first. Whoever has the next card reads that one and so forth. After reading a card aloud, the card is finished and turned over. Challenge students with a timer for more fast-paced games!

Year 7 Making Connections 2017-2018 7) Continents and Oceans WITH ANSWERS

Year 7 Making Connections 2017-2018 7) Continents and Oceans WITH ANSWERS

The lesson teaches the students the continents and oceans of the world. The settler focuses on assessing previous learning from Primary school. The starter activity is called Puzzler whereby students in groups have to assemble a picture of the world map [seen on the slides] and stop the YouTube Clip the Final Countdown and tell the key words. Activity 1 is naming the 7 continents and 5 oceans on a world map (sheet attached). This has ANSWERS. The Activity 2 is a quiz on different parts of the world WITH ANSWERS. The development is a debate on whether local or international connections are more important in a style of MOCK OF THE WEEK. The mini-plenary is YMCA analysis to visually see whether students have met the LOs. I have also included an additional development activity on guessing the flags and a mini-plenary on Phones4U. The final plenary is Artefact. This was used in a History lesson taught last year. The students circulate the room and look at different objects- they try to name these objects, their origin in a country and whether it is a local, national or international connection.
