Authentic French reading/translation with parallel text - My Childhood Town / Where I used to live

Authentic French reading/translation with parallel text - My Childhood Town / Where I used to live

I wrote this text myself in French and accompanied it with the parallel English text. I use it to introduce and revise topic vocabulary (Where I used to live when I was younger / my childhood town). The line numbers are great for reading for gist and specific information and you can also play many games to introduce and consolidate vocabulary and structures. Amusez-vous bien! You could also use it as the basis for a comprehension activity, a translation

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!!

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!!

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!! A complete study guide of the first 26 chapters of the book No et moi using the film as a support. Ideal to help your student have a clear chronology of the book in their head with the help of visuals from the film. These resources include: - Two starter activities with appealing worksheets to approach the movie - A study booklet for students with pictures from the movie to guide them through the chronology of the book. (students need to make precise references to the book with quotes) - A worksheet with titles linked to the student booklet - An answer booklet which can be used as a complete study booklet of the first 26 chapters of the book. All the quotes and references you need to teach are written for you. References to specific pages are also given. (You will need to have 'Le Livre de Poche' version of the book) Teaching tips: I gave this booklet to my students at the end of Year 1 of the French A-level after having studied the first 26 chapters with them. I noticed that some of them were struggling with the chronology and the precise order of scenes in the book or where to find quotes. This booklet has helped them greatly to have a clear vision of the book and they now have all the references that they need to write their essay. You will need about 4 hours to complete this booklet with your students but they can be given some questions to answer at home and the first half of the movie to watch at home too to save time in class. I will create a second booklet soon to cover the second half of the movie and the book! Keep checking my shop for new updates! :-) Plenty more resources on No et moi in my shop! I will soon add more resources on the book so please do not hesitate to visit my shop: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/MllePierre I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question on a particular slide or activity, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message. I would really appreciate some feedback :-) Thank you very much. @EloCamden

Cover work

Cover work

15 cover work sheets covering a variety of topics. Activities include translation, writing, recognising words and word patterns. These can be used for students with some experience in French year 7-9. They are designed to leave with the cover supervisor or cover teacher who has little or no knowledge of French. They have answer sheets with them and each one should keep the students busy for at least 30 minutes, depending on ability.

French Jokes and Thinking Skills

French Jokes and Thinking Skills

This is a resource that I use for GCSE students or able KS3 students. It is a useful way to get students into thinking about translation and by allowing students to work out the meanings of the jokes in small groups, the activity allows differentiation and peer to peer interaction. Some groups respond better to this activity if they have a small vocabulary sheet to aid them. Although there is no direct link to the curriculum, this is a fun activity which could be used as a starter or as a bit of fun 'real world' French.

An example of an Individual Research Project - Complete study - New A-level (2017) FRENCH

An example of an Individual Research Project - Complete study - New A-level (2017) FRENCH

This is a complete example of an Individual Research Project (IRP) with a completed log book. The title of the research is based on the following topic: Titre de mon sujet : Le rap français dans les banlieues Problématique : Le rap pour Supreme NTM est-il une échappatoire pour ces jeunes banlieusards français ? Comment arrivent-ils à dénoncer une société qui va mal à travers ce genre musical? This resource includes: - A completed log book by a student with all the steps and tips to guide and help your student. - All the sources that go with the project (an analysis of one of the sources to show students how to get the most out of their sources) - An EDITABLE log book for your students to complete on their laptop. Teacher tip: I actually gave this sample to my students before the summer and asked them to come back in September with a topic they want to research and start selecting a few sources so they can formulate a specific question or area of study in September. Please check my other resources on the IRP and do not forget to check this resource for regular updates! :-) I will soon add an audio tape of a sample oral to go with this project. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/individual-research-project-complete-student-teacher-study-guide-new-a-level-2017-new-update-11653960 I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question on a particular slide or activity, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message.
