This resource contains information on 30 different scientist from the past and the present that are black or from an ethnic minority. This is a great resource to use for Black History Month to show to students during mentor/tutor time or to be input into the science curriculum. It is time we show our students the diversity of scientists that are out there and how we need to increase the amount of black people going into science. It is about time that a black scientist wins one of the Nobel prizes in science (as of 2020). You can use these images as cards to print off and then students arrange into different stages of classification. Start with the Kingdoms. Then select the Animals. Organise animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. Select vertebrates. Organise vertebrates to mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians. Select mammals. Ask them to organise cats and not cats. You can then talk about individual species.
