Let’s practise Spanish vocabulary on animals in a fun way! This card game includes 18 items of vocabulary and consists of 36 cards that include a pet image and its name below. But careful! Some are labelled wrong! Students must grab one card and name the animal they see before putting it down on a pile in the centre. If the animal is labelled wrong and they read it without correcting it, they will have to get all cards from the pile. The winner is the person who runs out of cards. Perfect to review animals vocabulary and key sounds pronunciation in class, but also to play at home as a family! ¡Vamos a practicar el vocabulario de los animales mientras nos divertimos! A fun activity to drill ‘Free time’ vocabulary whilst developing translation skills from Spanish into English. Based on the game ‘One pen One die’ (‘Games for Teaching Primary French’ by Danièle Bourdais and Sue Finnie), where pupils compete to be the first one to finish all the translations. Here is how to play: in pairs, students take turns to roll the die to decide who goes first. Whoever gets a six starts translating whilst the other person rolls the die to try and steal the pen by getting another six. When they get it, they shout ‘¡Para!’ (Stop!) and ‘steal’ the pen off their partner to start translating. The person who just lost the pen starts rolling it to get number six to steal it again. The winner is the pupil who finishes the translations first. Prompt your students to think of their translation whilst rolling the die so they are always on task! It can also be played online with a virtual die. The PowerPoint includes two differentiated worksheets on Free Time and an adaptable template too to suit the topic being studied as well as to the students’ needs and level. Students will have to use the website ‘Infojobs’ to find them. Once finished, they could then present their findings to the class to develop speaking skills. With this resource, students will reflect on important aspects during any job search such as the working hours, requirements, qualifitications, etc. An explanation on ‘Infojobs’ as well as a learning mat with specific terms related to the world of work and based around the layout of the website are included. The learning mat also offers sentence starters for those who might need that extra support when presenting their chosen job. Una clase para que los estudiantes consoliden/amplíen sus conocimientos sobre el tema del empleo en español. Incluye dos escenarios posibles: buscar un trabajo de verano o el trabajo ideal/perfecto.
