About Tes Institute

Helping your school to train and retain your staff

Combining the best in online and face-to-face learning, we're helping schools and school staff all over the world to be the best they can be.

From initial teacher training and subject knowledge enhancement to continuing professional development and support for newly qualified and returner teachers, our unique approach allows learners to study in their own time, learning from their peers as well as from highly experienced tutors – enabling you to retain, train and progress your trusted teaching staff while they take the next step in their careers without leaving your school.

From helping your teaching assistants and other school staff to gain Qualified Teacher Status to preparing your teachers to teach multiple subject specialisms and develop their skills, classroom confidence and teaching practice – we’re with you every step of the way.

Our programmes for prospective teachers can help your teaching assistants and unqualified teachers gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE).

We can also help your trainee teachers to improve their subject knowledge.

Help your teachers to teach multiple subject specialisms with our Subject Knowledge Enhancement for Teachers courses or develop teaching practice with our online CPD courses.

Courses written by leading educators and delivered through an award winning platform.

Our educational ethos

We believe in the power of great teaching. We are committed to creating a high quality educational workforce which is why we offer a wide variety of programmes for staff and schools of all contexts and settings. We are aligned with the UK government’s focus on attracting talented people into the teaching profession and recognise the important role we have to play in recruitment.

Our teacher training and development programmes have been specifically designed to meet the demands of colleagues across the world. Our philosophy is that education should focus on the whole child or learner, rather than solely on the content being learnt. We want to develop learners who are problem solvers and reflective thinkers who make meaning through their individual experience in physical and cultural contexts.
