Introducing the newest part of Tes
Welcome to the newest member of the Tes Global family
We’re incredibly pleased to announce the launch of Tes Institute, a new addition to the Tes Global family. Our vision is to provide the most flexible, accessible and personalised learning available, specifically designed to fit around teachers and their schools.
Through the very best of both digital and blended learning, Tes Institute will give teaching staff the skills to teach with confidence and schools the ability to attract, train and retain the very best. From Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses and initial teacher training to continuing professional development, our highly practical programmes allow students to study at their own pace, whilst working or teaching, and learning from expert educators and their peers.
For schools, we can provide a unique, flexible and cost-effective combination of advertising, search and training that allows schools to attract, train and retain the very best talent: from both within and outside the school.
At a time when the Government are taking decisive steps to attract more people into teaching, Tes Institute has a hugely important role to play in ensuring that those who want to get into teaching receive the training they need, and helping to alleviate the acute shortages of teachers we are seeing in many parts of the country.
Our unique Straight to Teaching programme provides for the first time a genuine career path for Teaching Assistants, unqualified teachers and other school staff to prepare to become qualified teachers through the Assessment Only route whilst continuing to work in a school environment. There are more than 250,000 Teaching Assistants in the country, and this programme has the potential to tap into a huge potential teaching workforce.
We are now the largest provider in England of SKE programmes and of applicants for QTS via the Assessment Only route. We hope to reach even more teachers by developing tailored programmes for returner teachers, international teachers and also targeted, short CPD courses on Growth Mindset, SEN, behaviour management that complement our existing range of CPD courses.
So far our programmes have helped over 4,000 teachers. As we launch our new brand, we hope to open up the global power of Tes and build a truly unique way of training and developing confident, highly skilled teachers and school leaders.
