Teacher training can bring back a mixture of emotions for many teachers. From deciding on the best route into teaching to the first time stepping in front of a classroom, the whole experience can be a rollercoaster of feelings but it can also create some of the most memorable moments of a career.

The reason that many of us go on to become great teachers after qualifying is the advice and help that we have received along the way. Whether from a headteacher, mentor, family member or even a pupil, we’ve all received advice at some point that has guided us in the right direction.

Sharing your advice for new teachers

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone at the start of their teaching career, what would you say? You can share it on our Facebook page or post it on Twitter. We will pick a winner from the most liked comments and they will win a TES CPD course of their choice!

  1. Write your top tip on Facebook or post a Tweet
  2. Don’t forget to include the hashtag #NewTeacherTips
  3. Ask your colleagues to do the same!
