What are the Professional Skills Test Help Clinics?
Our Professional Skills Test Help Clinics are a series of FREE, online sessions designed to help you prepare for your professional skills tests in numeracy and literacy. Our expert tutors will provide you with guidance and support to give you the confidence you need to pass your exams.
We host three separate sessions covering the literacy test and the two numeracy tests - mental arithmetic and calculator.
You are welcome to register and attend all three….for FREE.
Please be aware that the sessions we run aim to support you in your preparations for the Literacy and Numeracy Professional Skills Tests but attending these clinics does not guarantee that you will successfully pass the Professional Skills Tests.

When should I take my Professional Skills Tests?
Once you’ve prepared and you feel ready to take the skills tests, you can book a test appointment online.
If you’re on a traditional teacher training route, such as School Direct or University-led PGCE, you will need to take and pass both tests before you can begin your training.
If you are due to begin or have started Tes Institute's Straight to Teaching route, you can take the tests during the programme but will need to pass them both before you can be assessed for QTS at the end of the programme.
Subject Knowledge Enhancement
Our Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses prepare you for teacher training in a shortage subject. Our SKE courses help you to gain the depth of subject knowledge and skills you need to be able to teach your chosen subject, prior to or during your initial teacher training.
