Is this course for you?

If you’re a member of school staff such as an unqualified teacher, TA or higher-level teaching assistant, you have a degree, teaching experience and want to qualify to work as a teacher in England, then Straight to Teaching could be perfect for you.

If you have at least two years’ teaching experience, you may be eligible to go straight to our Assessment Only route, which assesses you for QTS in as little as 12 weeks.

Our programme is suitable for most school settings including specialist schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative provision and residential SEND settings, find out more about our SEND route

How is the programme delivered?

Our Straight to Teaching programme is delivered through a mix of in-school experience and online learning and theory, enabling you to develop your teaching and prepare a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate that you meet the English Teachers’ Standards.

Throughout your programme, you’ll be supported by your Straight to Teaching pathway tutor and your school mentor.

The length and context of your Straight to Teaching programme will be based on your existing experience and will be designed in collaboration with you and your school.
