International teacher training and development
Combining the best in online and face-to-face learning, we’re helping schools and teachers all over the world to be the best they can be – from trusted support staff and passionate graduates to confident teachers and leaders.
We know that helping your staff to feel equipped and valued is key to realising your vision of excellence in you school. And with quality teachers in high demand in international schools, training and development has never been more important.
Courses to qualify your school staff
Straight to Teaching
Straight to Teaching is a tailor-made professional development programme enabling school staff to meet the English Teachers’ Standards and be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) without leaving their current school.
The programme helps school leaders like you take control of your teacher shortages by up-skilling and retaining trusted school staff, including unqualified teachers and teaching assistants. It makes use of your staff’s existing teaching experience to help you create a qualified teacher workforce.
This international programme is intended for school staff in international schools teaching the English national curriculum who will teach in the English language medium and will be most helpful for those teaching to a British or English based curriculum.
The International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE) is a blended learning programme that helps further the careers of education professionals, working outside the UK.
If you have school staff such as Teaching Assistants, HLTAs and unqualified teachers, they may be eligible to undertake an iPGCE. Validated by the University of East London, the programme takes one academic year to complete and is delivered through a mix of online and school-based learning, face-to-face development and in-country tutor support
(dependent upon your location).
Your staff will undertake a combination of online and interactive study sessions, learning tasks, virtual seminars, work-place and online supported learning. They will be guided by their personal pathway tutor, and supported by their school mentor, who will be a suitable member of your school staff.
Courses to develop your staffs' knowledge and skills
Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) for teachers
Our award-winning Biology, Chemistry, Computing, French, Geography, German, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish SKE programmes are designed to help teachers across the world to update or develop their current subject knowledge and to train to teach other specialist subjects.
Courses are delivered 100% online so that learning can fit around existing school and personal commitments. Each programme is made up of approximately 15 on-demand sessions that have been designed by teachers for teachers to provide relevant and engaging content and lesson ideas.
Continuing Professional Development
Our award-winning online continuing professional development (CPD) courses will help your teachers and school staff to up-skill and become confident in new teaching concepts and key subject areas.
Covering innovative teaching techniques, practices and resources, these flexible, 100% online CPD courses encourage peer-to-peer learning and allow teachers to fit CPD around their existing school and personal commitments. We’ve partnered with the best educators and institutions so that teachers can learn from high quality tutors, but the most important learning happens in discussions with the other teachers on the course.
Our Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) induction programme is designed to guide you and your NQTs through induction to meet the English Teachers’ Standards and other statutory requirements. The package is designed to complement the personalised NQT induction plan that you develop for your new teachers and gives you access to a specially designed electronic platform called NQT Manager. Your teachers may also be able to access some additional CPD courses that will help to develop their teaching skills and knowledge.
The induction period is designed to bridge the gap between initial teacher training and a career in teaching. It combines a personalised programme of development, support, monitoring and assessment against the English Teacher’s Standards that should equip the NQT with the tools to become an effective and successful teacher.
