About Assisi Catholic College
Assisi Catholic College is a co-educational, non-selective, independent day school that serves students from 4 to 18 years old. Located in Upper Coomera, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Queensland, the school has approximately 1388 enrolled students.
Established in 2005, the school originally operated as pre-primary to Year 3 and Year 8 classes, however has since grown to educate students from pre-primary all the way through to Year 12.
Assisi Catholic College is a contemporary pre-primary to year 12 school located on a spacious and natural campus. Students at the school have access to facilities including the St Mary’s Parish, computer and iPad programmes, sports programmes and the Chiara iCentre, a learning centre. Another key facility on the campus is the La Verna Hospitality Trade Training Centre, which allows students to learn and practice true hospitality skills.
Assisi Catholic College teaches the National Curriculum while also following the Dimensions of Learning theoretical framework. This framework has five dimensions – acquiring and integrating knowledge; positive attitudes and perceptions; using knowledge meaningfully; productive habits and values; and extending and refining knowledge. Senior students are given the option of three pathways one being university, another being vocational education and training; and also a work transition pathway where students can participate in work experience, apprenticeships/traineeships and certificate courses.
Assisi Catholic College strives to create an environment that aligns with Franciscan values. The main habits and values that are encouraged and promoted within the school are responsibility, respect, persistence, being prepared and being your own person.
