About Bilingual European School - The British American Pre-School

The British American Pre-School and the Bilingual European School prepare children aged 2 to 14 to be the travelers of the world, providing an outstanding educational journey that successfully lays the groundwork to meet the challenges of tomorrow, developing their natural talents both in English and Italian.

BAPS, founded in 1987, offers a full immersion English programme that combines the inquiry-based and child-centered educational philosophy with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (for the first three age groups) and Key Stage One (for Reception children). BAPS full immersion English approach centred on the “play based learning” and the “learning by doing” provides children with the necessary knowledge and skills for a smooth transition to the BES bilingual programme.

BES, founded in 1999, integrates the Italian Ministerial programme with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate, offering bilingual education of excellence with a global perspective. At BES every student is a unique and special individual engaged in hands-on, minds-on learning activities in line with the constructivist approach.

The stimulating learning landscapes, designed by the internationally renowned architect Rosan Bosch, give students the opportunity to foster a life-long love of learning. The school hosts a permanent Bruno Munari® art laboratory and an accredited LEGO® Education Innovation Studio. BES is also recognised by Avanguardie Educative as a centre of excellence for educational innovation and in collaboration with Project Zero is committed to building the learning models of the future.

BAPS and BES proudly joined Globeducate in 2021, combining the group’s forward-looking project with the school’s unique model of cognitive integrated bilingualism, recognized by an international team of researchers from the Goethe University Frankfurt as a role model for bilingualism in Europe and all over the world.
