About British School Salalah

About British School Salalah

This is a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team and lead a growing not for profit British international school in a beautiful corner of Arabia. British School Salalah (BSS) is an expanding and delightful school on the shores of the Arabian Sea.  It was founded in 1970 based in a small hut on the beach. It moved to a villa in Salalah town in 1977 and then on to its present site in 1980.  BSS is the only British National Curriculum school in Salalah and is a member of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME).

Run on a not-for-profit basis, BSS provides quality British education for children of expatriate families in the Dhofar region. The child-centred approach and supportive classroom atmosphere are appreciated by students from all backgrounds. BSS is currently a small school with 190 students and a maximum class size of 26.

The Dhofar region is experiencing a period of unprecedented economic growth and investment, particularly in the tourist sector. Within this context, as the leading provider of British international education on the region, BSS has substantial potential for further growth, development and innovation.
