About Corby Technical School
Corby Technical School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Corby, Northamptonshire. It is a free school supported and sponsored by a multi-academy trust called The Brooke Weston Trust. A smaller than average size for a secondary school, it provideS 475 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18.
The school became the first free school in Northamptonshire when it first opened in September 2012. Students have studied in a new school building opened in December 2013.
Values and Vision
Corby Technical School’s primary aim is to inspire students and prepare them for success in their further careers with a learning environment that caters to a wide range of interests, including technical fields like engineering and computing or architecture and electronics. It has the atmosphere of a safe, well-knit community of people, creating a place where students can always feel confident and well-supported. There is a sense of common purpose to students and staff, where everyone involved is focused on success.
“Students make outstanding progress from their different starting points in English and mathematics and make good or better progress across a range of other subjects. Students known to be eligible for the pupil premium make better progress than other students in English and the gap between them and other students is closing rapidly in mathematics. The support provided for disabled students and those with special educational needs or English as a second language is comprehensive and strong.”
