Visions and value

The school aims to be a place that inspires both staff and students to do extraordinary things. The main values are respect, responsibility, honesty and determination and it hopes to do this by developing each students’ ability to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

The curriculum emphasises the core subjects of English, maths, language and P.E. Pupils then choose from the expressive arts, science, a social subject and technological subject and two ad-hoc choices to fill out the rest of their studies.

Education Scotland

“The quality of teaching was good overall. Almost all teachers gave clear directions and explained new work clearly. In most cases, they interacted well with their pupils, praised good work and encouraged pupils to be involved in their learning. In a few lessons, teachers questioned pupils very skilfully to extend their understanding.”
