About Eerde International Boarding School

International School Eerde (ISE) is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school with boarding in the Netherlands, serving students from the age of 4-18. The all-through school is situated in Ommen, and welcomes pupils from many different nationalities. There are approximately 120 pupils on record.

International School Eerde was founded in 1934 and is the oldest international school in the Netherlands. The school offers boarding for pupils aged 12 and above. Students are taught from the Cambridge curriculum and at the age of 16 take the IGCSE exams, followed by an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Values and vision

International School Eerde welcomes pupils from around the world and wants to offer a culturally diverse and enriching learning environment where all nationalities are celebrated. The all-through school promotes life-long learning and educates students to become global citizens. Children are nurtured by dedicated teaching staff and encouraged to push themselves to reach their full potential across the curriculum, while at the same time discovering and developing their individual talents and skills. The school wants students to be prepared for their future and to have a focus and ambition and offers them the chance to meet with a careers counsellor so they can determine what they will do after completing their education. Pupils are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities outside the classroom to enhance their learning experience while learning new skills and meeting new friends. These include music lessons, drama class and sports clubs.
