Focus Learning Trust is a registered UK charity established in 2003 for the advancement of education. The purpose of the Trust is to provide leadership and support to Focus schools, a group of affiliated independent schools registered as Schools with a Religious Character.
Focus schools provide a learning environment that is stimulating yet challenging for both students and teachers. We have adopted the whole school approach to teaching and learning in an inclusive classroom under the maxim 'Learning to Learn', a vision which places school education as the starting block of a lifelong experience for its students.
Our schools are registered independent schools affiliated to Focus Learning Trust and are highly respected academic facilities working in close cooperation to share best practice, professional learning opportunities and resources. High standards are demanded throughout and we are committed to achieving the highest levels of teaching from our staff and academic potential from our students.
Focus is a progressive and innovative organisation having the interests of the students at heart. Combining teaching best practice and advancing technology gives an enviable lead in teaching and learning. Current developments include the extensive use of video conferencing as a teaching medium between schools both nationally and internationally.
Specialist facilities include well-equipped science laboratories, technology workshops, music rooms, food technology/home economics practical areas, computer labs, library resource areas and active and passive recreation areas.
Whilst Focus schools are relatively small, they benefit from being part of a national network of schools across the UK. Many of the current developments in pupil learning are at the very cutting edge of practice. Pupil exam results are consistently significantly above the national average and behaviour and attitude is outstanding with relationships between pupils and staff exceptional. Teachers are well rewarded financially and provided with excellent CPD both locally and nationally.
