Gulf British Academy
About Gulf British Academy
Gulf British Academy opened in 2005 and quickly established itself as one of Kuwait’s top independent schools. We’re a friendly school where children are valued as individuals and parents welcomed as partners in their child’s education.
In August 2020, we will be opening the doors to our brand new premises. We will cater for pupils from Pre-KG to Year 7 and plan to add another Year level each year.
The new building is part of our school's ongoing development after successful BSO, BSME and COBIS accreditation. As such, we are now looking to attract outstanding and qualified teaching staff, experienced in the national curriculum for England, to help us continue our success.
Why work for us?
It is a rare opportunity to join a school as it embarks on a new chapter in its history and where you can make a real impact. We value our teachers and want them to contribute creatively and imaginatively to the school’s ethos. There will be support and opportunities for continuing professional development as we grow our team of senior and middle leaders.
The new school building will provide a modern learning environment, including spacious classrooms, a swimming pool, a large hall/theatre, sport areas (basketball, football, tennis), science labs, design and technology areas, ICT rooms, play areas, and a teaching kitchen.
Kuwait is a small, friendly country providing the ideal base to visit many other countries. It has a large expat community and offers plenty of opportunities for new experiences with lots of sunshine and plenty of beaches.
We offer an excellent package for overseas, qualified employees that includes a generous tax-free salary; annual flight allowance to and from your home country; furnished accommodation or housing allowance; end-of-service indemnity; and discounted tuition fees for employees bringing their children.
We work closely within the national curriculum for England to deliver creative and interactive programmes that develop our academic curriculum, pastoral care system and extra-curricular activities to ensure our children are happy and enjoy coming to school. This includes a house system, as well as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset initiatives. We also embrace Islamic culture and values through Arabic Language, Islamic and Quran studies in accordance with the guidelines of the Kuwait Ministry of Education.
We expect all members of our staff to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
If you’re passionate about helping pupils succeed, share our values and meet our requirements we would love to hear from you.
