About Hull Trinity House Academy
Hull Trinity House Academy is a boys-only, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Hull, Yorkshire. It is an academy converter sponsored by the Delta Academies Trust, which supports 52 academies at primary and secondary level throughout the North of England.
A smaller than average secondary school, Hull Trinity House Academy provides 750 places for students between the ages of 11 and 16 when fully subscribed.
The school was founded as Hull Trinity House Marine School in February 1787, admitting just 36 pupils. It is a school of strong tradition, holding an annual founder’s day and an annual sports gala. Hull Trinity House Academy gained specialist school status in 2008 and converted to academy status in April 2012.
Values and vision
Hull Trinity House Academy has high aspirations, demonstrated by its motto “Spes Super Sydra”, or “Hope beyond the stars”, and it values every individual child, parent and staff member. Teachers strive to achieve excellence in everything they do, while promoting values such as honesty, trust, courtesy and consideration.
The Academy is currently rated as a good school by Ofsted (2020) but we aspire to become outstanding and the outcomes for our students show a commitment to providing excellence for all.
