About International Grammar School
International Grammar School is an independent, co-educational school catering to students from pre-school to Year 12. Located in the inner-city suburb of Ultimo, the school has approximately 1129 students and 110 teaching staff.
The school was established in 1984 with just 44 students. The school’s vision was to provide students with a globally-focused bilingual education, rich in the study of music and the arts. The school has had many homes, and in 1997 it moved to its current location on the historical site of the Dalgety Woolstore.

Facilities include science labs, nine music rooms, two libraries, languages rooms, specialist computer facility, a senior computer centre, a music technology room, a drama and music performance space, three design and technology rooms, visual arts rooms, outdoor art terraces, a rooftop garden, a rooftop basketball court, all-purpose hall and a modern gym with climbing wall.
Curriculum
International Grammar School’s pre-school curriculum includes language and music lessons. The school follows the NSW Education Standards Authority which adheres to the Australian Curriculum. In primary school students in Years 1 to 6 participate in 80 minutes per day of immersion in their second language. In secondary school students begin a third language and new students to the school are given beginner language classes.
