King Ecgbert School is a mixed, non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It as about 1,300 students and is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
The school became an academy in 2012, and since February 2014 has been part of the Mercia Learning Trust - a multi-academy trust that also includes: Totley Primary School, Newfield Secondary School, Nether Edge Primary and Valley Park Primary.
Values and vision
King Ecgbert School describes its ultimate aim as ensuring that all pupils leave the school as a confident, happy, tolerant young adults, equipped with a portfolio of exam success, skills and other achievements that will enable them to fulfil their dreams and ambitions.
The Mercia Learning Trust defines its mission as providing an outstanding education for pupils, and says it is “passionate that all our pupils should see their time at school as happy and fulfilling, with their potential developed to the utmost”.
The trust aims to ensure that all its pupils will benefit from: an inclusive approach; a broad and balanced curriculum; the promotion of resilience and self-reliance; support to develop and maintain positive well-being in all aspects of life and strong moral values.
