Mearns Castle High School community aims to work towards sustaining a safe, inclusive, and high quality learning environment that enables its students to develop capacities as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors to society.

The school wishes for its students to be motivated and enthusiastic in their learning and for teachers exhibit the same characteristics when it comes to teaching. It aims for everyone involved in the school community to be wholly committed towards reaching the highest standards of attainment and achievement. There is a desire for students to build positive relationships and pursue a healthy and active lifestyle. Students are expected to show initiative and be enterprising and creative.
